Portfolio
Find below examples of my portfolio. All examples on this page were written in Java, interfaces with PostgresQL/MySQL, is hosted on Linux, and runs on the Tomcat servlet container.
Not all of my projects are listed here, as some of them are run-of-the-mill websites, and others are just to awfull to show here.
iCatcher
iCatcher is a rich-media ad server. I maintained and extended existing code, and developed the reporting engine.
I was also responsible for designing and developing new DHTML types. We had liaisons with DoubleClick and CheckM8, and I also extended the DoubleClick library of creatives.
fm.ly
fm.ly provides web space, a unique URL of the form www.firstname.lastname.fm.ly, and email accounts for a small monthly fee.
I developed the billing engine, but the service was short-lived and exist today only as a screenshot.
Vehicle Search Solutions
VSS is a database of cars, trucks and motorcycles. Well, anything that is a vehicle, really.
The site is fully multi-lingual (perfect for South Africa with its 11 official languages). A new language can be added by specifying an additional language properties sheet with simple name=value fields.
Someone else took over development/maintenance when I left South Africa, and the current site is in a broken, unused state.
